Josh Belkoff, started as the Senior Director of Recruiting and Development for Sports Business Solutions in 2018. Josh resides in Arizona and he marks the club's first ever Skype Speaker Event.

In his role at SBS, Josh focuses on building relationships with collegiate sports management programs, clubs, and associations to help students find work within the sports industry. Josh described this function as being a "Career GPS" to navigate you towards success.

Sports Business Solutions provides essential career services as well as partnering with professional and collegiate clients for training, consulting, and recruiting assistance. SBS was launched in 2014, with the goal to help others achieve success in this competitive business.

For SBC members actively seeking employment or opportunities in the sports industry, Josh Belkoff had this to say:

On interviewing and approaching job searches...
"Three things I look for when interviewing are; having a great attitude, be yourself, and have a good mindset. Having a track record of working hard, are you efficient in time management and growth throughout your collegiate career?"

"Are you a go-getter? Are you passionate about what you are walking into? It is easy to be passionate about sports, are you passionate about the business?"

"Are you doing something to differentiate yourself? Be out of the box on your day to day focus."

On balancing cooperation and competition within a team-oriented environment...

"First and foremost here are three words of advice; be human and genuine, with everyone you work with and for"

"You don't want to be unhelpful and not a team player. Outwork and do it the right and old-fashioned way. It is alright to be competitive, in a good-hearted way."

"Enjoy the teamwork and working towards a common goal. These people become your brain trust and just enjoy the moment."

On utilizing LinkedIn and Twitter...
"it goes a long way when you send personalized messages. Put it on your calendar to stay-in-touch about life and your career"

"You never know where things are going to go or who you will be working for."

"Let passion dictate your experiences, not vice versa."

"Keep aware of how your profile and persona look like from the outside."

Thank you to Josh Belkoff for taking the time to share his invaluable insight with our club, about the ins and outs of working for a sports consulting and career services company as well as his advice on how to succeed in such a competitive industry.
