The Detroit Pistons are looking for the next sales superstars in the ticket sales industry. With a brand new stadium; 46 promotions to senior level roles in the industry over the past five years from the program; and a new business operation center being built in the next year, Detroit is emerging as one of the best places to start your career in sports sales.

The Pistons are partnering with Sports Business Solutions for the Detroit Pistons Sales Hiring Showcase on May 7th, 2018. This event will allow industry hopefuls to experience a “day in the life” of what working in professional sports sales is all about. Throughout this day long interview, candidates will learn the basics of sports sales, perform business scenarios, receive a showcase certificate and have a chance to interview with sales leadership of the Detroit Pistons in an effort to earn a job on their Inside Sales Team.

Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting the department's marketing, sales, promotions, and advertising for an individual sport or sports and special events surrounding UCLA athletic teams/events. 

Responsibilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as skills in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in conceptualization, development, implementation and review of multi-dimensional corporate and marketing, sales, and promotional programs.
  • Demonstrate creative abilities in generating innovative ideas and exploring alternative approaches and solutions to problems.
  • Knowledge and experience of men's and women's athletic events and procedures.
  • Knowledge and ability to follow all Pac-12 conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Display organizational skills as well as the ability to prioritize and complete assignments in a manner accurately reflecting the relative importance of job responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions and distractions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to supervise UCLA staff members, student work force and a diverse group of volunteers, in addition to interacting effectively with coaches, student-athletes, parents, administrators, and other staff.
  • Demonstrate word processing and computer skills to complete assignments with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to operate a computer with working knowledge of various computer software systems including: Microsoft Office, Outlook and Adobe Photoshop.

Salary: $9.00/hour

Description:

Hiring for summer of 2018 and/or Fall 2018 semester.  If starting during summer, the expectation is you will continue employment during Fall 2018 semester.  Compensation is $9.00 per hour.  The Wisconsin Athletic Ticket Office is looking for energetic, self-motivated and detail-oriented students to provide outstanding customer service to supporters of Wisconsin Athletics.  Interest in college athletics preferred.  Good problem solving, communication and computer skills are essential.  Must be team-oriented, reliable, well-organized, adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Phone and in-person athletic ticket sales and customer service, complimentary ticket administration at athletic events and concerts, data entry, filing, preparing mailings and other duties as assigned. Employees will be scheduled to staff both office hours and event hours.

Successful candidates will start training as early as the week of May 12, if desiring summer employment, or August 31, if starting during the Fall semester.  Start date is flexible based on availability.  Must be a UW-Madison student during Fall 2018 semester to be eligible for hire.  Incoming fall 2018 freshmen eligible for hire.  Students that graduate prior to starting date are not eligible for hire.

SUMMER HOURS: 20 – 25 hours per week from May 12th through August 30th.  Flexible scheduling available.

FALL SEMESTER HOURS: 8 – 12 hours per week during fall 2018 semester, beginning August 31st.  Flexible scheduling available.  Hours vary depending on class schedule during available office hours and number of events during a given week.  Evening and weekend event hours are required.  Availability to be assigned to work all seven home football games is required, games off are based on seniority and requests.

Green Bay Packers Sales and Business Development Intern

Description:

The Sales & Business Development Department is responsible for generating revenue for the Green Bay Packers organization through the sale of corporate sponsorships.

The department is also responsible for managing the relationships with corporate partners.

Interns will be responsible for assisting the Sales & Business Development staff in day to day operations of the department. This includes, but is not limited to client/partner relations, inventory management and the planning and execution of special events.

This is a paid internship and entails 40+ hours during the work week and interns may also be asked to work nights, holidays and weekends as needed. Attendance is required for all applicable home games, training camp and marquee events (i.e. Family Night).

Job Responsibilities:

-Prepare Sales & Business Development documents for clients. Examples may include sales decks, proof of performance and activation plans.
-Join Sales & Business Development staff at select meetings with partners.
-Assist the Partnership Services team with the fulfillment of corporate partnership assets.
-Assist with day-to-day Sales & Business Development administrative needs.
-Assist with client hospitality on game days, training camp and special events.
-Assist with the coordination of various Sales & Business Development activities during training camp, including, but not limited to: client hospitality visits, signage, and sponsor activations.
-Assist with coordinating, planning, and executing special events. Examples include:
  • Corporate Luncheon Series, training camp, 5K Run, Family Night, Festival of Lights, player appearances and partner events.
-Assist with coordination and execution of Sales & Business Development game day elements. Elements may include: client hospitality, contests/promotions, client activations/displays, etc.
-Work closely with the Game Entertainment intern on coordination and execution of game day elements.
-Assist Sales & Business Development and Game Entertainment staff with promotions on and off-field on game days.
-Daily computer work, powerpoint documents, spreadsheets, etc.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Undergraduate degree (junior status minimum) in related field.
-Previous work experience in sports marketing and/or sports marketing events outside of classroom work required. Example: internship/volunteer time with a sports team or athletic dept.
-Internship and/or part-time experience with other sports teams preferred.
-Above average communication skills.
-Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
-Must be able to handle various projects at one time while performing at a very high level.
-Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours, within a team environment.
