Description:

The Office of Career & Leadership and Office of Academic Services would like to provide an opportunity for an intern to join our team at the Kohl Fetzer Center located on the Lower Level of the Kohl Center. Anyone that is interested in a career with athletics and career development are encouraged to apply. Description:

The Wisconsin State Journal is seeking a part-time Sports Reporter Assistant. If you're a team player and interested in a career in sports reporting, this is the position for you!

Responsibilities:
  • In this position you will take scores, statistics and highlights over the phone, fax and email on high school, college and recreational sports.
  • Web-based data entry is a big part of the job; typing, grammar and spelling skills are vital.
  • Familiarity with our newspaper’s Scoreboard page is a major plus, as the new hire will take over backup duties putting together that page.

Qualifications:
  • A passion for sports and knowledge of the terminology is a requirement.
  • Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
  • Applicants with a valid driver's license, a good driving record and their own personal vehicle are preferred.

Salary: Housing & Travel Stipend Provided

Description:

We are looking for a creative mind to join the Madison Pro Soccer team as a Graphics Design Intern. This is a great opportunity for the right person who wants to get experience in the professional sports industry. They’ll be designing and creating marketing assets for the club to use in both digital and traditional advertising. Due to the nature of working within a small team, this role will evolve to being involved with a number of departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in designing digital assets under direction of the Chief Graphic Designer and Director of Digital Media
  • Support Partnerships and Marketing departments in preparing posters, flyers or other assets.
  • Assist marketing team in photography projects with players
  • Some evening & weekend tabling activities at Madison events and festivals

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task on numerous projects
  • Working knowledge of graphic design software, ie. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Videography experience and ability to edit video
  • Photography experience a plus, but not required
  • Interest in soccer and sport preferred, but not required

The interns work directly with the management staff. All Interns must receive college credit for this internship OR this internship must qualify for a graduation requirement.

Description:

This is a free, networking event. Over 50 experts in the overlapping sport, entertainment, hospitality and event management industries will be situated at an individual table in the Pharmacy Building. A wide selection of experts will be present ranging in age, experience, organizational role, industry type, etc. Undergraduate and graduate students can meet with the different experts that align with their career goals or interests. They can meet with one expert or twenty – whatever can fit in 2.5 hours!

Description:

The mission of the UW Madison Intercollegiate Athletics Office of Human Resources is to engage as a strategic business partner to develop and deliver innovative, efficient and effective human resources programs and services.

This student HR Assistant position will use general Human Resources knowledge and skills to perform a wide range of supportive functions for human resources activities. This intern will be self-motivated and will routinely apply exceptional organizational, time management and communication skills and solid judgment.  

Duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Maintain and organize electronic and paper files
  • Coordinate and assemble new employee packets and other materials
  • Perform general clerical duties
  • Collect, enter and file employment paperwork
  • Assist in organizing paperwork for Badger Sports Camps
  • Assist in verifying employment documents in accordance with Federal Law
  • Perform data entry into various personnel systems
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
